Janaye Chubb is the Treasurer for the Street Festival. Janaye was born and raised in the Battlefords, and although she left to attended post-secondary school, she always knew that North Battleford remained 'home' in her heart. In 2013, Janaye and Tony moved back to the Battlefords. She is proud to be a part of this energetic committee, and believes that creating and promoting positive events will only foster a stronger knit community, one that everyone will take pride in being a part of. Outside the committee, Janaye is a Certified Financial Planner at Hein Financial Group and volunteers for various other events within the Battlefords.
Kali Weber is the Board Chair and Vendor Director for the Street Festival. Kali is currently studying Arts & Cultural Management at MacEwan University in Edmonton, but has been creating theatre in the Battlefords since she was 13-years-old, when she joined the Drama Club at Alexander Junior High. She has been a member of the Battlefords Community Players, co-founded Collective Voice Theatre, and worked with the Battlefords Children's Choir as a costume and set designer. She has a passion for collective creations, puppetry and clown. During her years teaching Drama at NBCHS, she produced musicals, classics, one acts, and many original, student written plays. Kali believes art can change the world and loves to be on the team that brings Saskatchewan's only International Street Performers Festival to North Battleford!
Alexis Christensen is the Sponsorship Chair for the Street Festival. She is currently the grade 4/5 teacher at Connaught School and will be finishing her Masters in Education Administration this summer, through the U of S. She also does Aboriginal Education and Awareness Consulting on the side. If you know Alexis, you know she absolutely loves to volunteer in the community. She believes positive community change comes from the passion, commitment, and action of its members. She is married to Dan and they have a two-year-old son named Jack and are expecting another baby this September.
Maggi Wilkinson is in charge of Special Events for the Street Festival. She grew up in the Battlefords, moving away only to attend the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. She moved back to the Battlefords 8 years ago and is currently working at Innovation Credit Union as an Account Manager. Maggi has volunteered with the International Street Performer Festival in North Battleford for the past two years, and is excited to be a member of the committee this year!
Kent Lindgren is the Volunteer Chair for the Street Festival. Kent works as the HIV Coordinator for Battlefords Family Health Centre, raising awareness and providing education about HIV. He has a background in sociology and harm reduction from the University of Saskatchewan and York University. Kent was elected to North Battleford City Council in October 2016, and was awarded a CBC Future 40 Under 40 award in 2015. Kent believes strongly in the importance of community and the role that art can have to make positive change.
Kerry Volk is the Marketing and Communications Chair. By day he works as the Marketing and Event Coordinator for Destination Battlefords. He has a background in Communications and Media Studies from the University of Calgary and spent 13 years in Alberta before returning to Saskatchewan. His experience is well rounded, working briefly as a junior reporter, and as an electrician for seven years. Kerry volunteers as much as possible in the community, leaning towards the arts to join productions both in choirs and local theatre. Fun loving and enthusiastic, Kerry believes in the positive impact community festivals can bring.
